Accurate measurements are the starting point for custom kitchen, wardrobe and window orders. A sketch for discussion is not a production drawing, so the final dimensions should be checked by the buyer and appointed Malaysia contractor or installer.

Record each opening carefully

Kitchen cabinet measurement planning in a Malaysia home
  1. Measure width, height and depth at more than one point.
  2. Note beams, columns, skirting, uneven floors and wall returns.
  3. Mark plumbing, electrical outlets, gas, ventilation and appliance connections.
  4. For windows and doors, record sill, lintel, handing and opening direction.
  5. Photograph access routes, lift size, stairs and unloading space.

Kitchen and wardrobe details

Record appliance models, service clearances, filler panels, ceiling height and the position of doors or drawers. For wardrobes, note skirting, ceiling cornices, lighting points and whether the doors need clearance for a bed or walkway.

Before production approval

Send the plan, photos, postcode, product list and target date with the measurement record. Keep the approved drawing attached to the quotation. If a site condition changes, pause and request a revised drawing rather than assuming the old dimension still applies.

Short answer

Measure multiple points, mark every obstruction and obtain a written final check before production. This simple discipline prevents many fit and installation surprises.

For a Malaysia project, keep the approved drawing, measurement record and quotation together. If a site condition or product choice changes, ask for a written revision so the next party is working from the same information. This practical record also makes future maintenance and follow-up enquiries easier.

Keep one current project file with the approved drawings, measurement notes, finish samples, quotation, delivery terms and contact details. This makes a handover easier between the homeowner, designer, factory, freight party and local installer. It also gives the team a clear reference when an appliance, opening, access condition or delivery date changes. Written updates are safer than assumptions and help the final result stay aligned with the agreed scope.
